Vintage Slate Bed Snooker Table by E A Clare & Son Liverpool,

The original E.A. Clare Score Board has gold lettering with brass slider, used but in good condition. Comes complete with snooker and Pool balls as shown in photographs.Wooden Triangles, cloth Brush, Chalk, odds & sods cue tips etc.Assortment of used Cues, spider and cross rest (Ten pieces in total)
Realistic starting price: This reflects only the cost of the new Hainsworth cloth and new cushion rubbers.
This table dates back to pre-1960. It was previously reconditioned in 1966 by E.A. Clare & Sons of Liverpool, see photo of underside of slate bed stencilling. Originally sold as a table top model for enthusiasts with restricted home space (to rest on another table). Four threaded inserts for levelling feet are provided should the new owner wish to revert to the original style.
Currently the slate bed sits very nicely on a really solid E.J Riley Mahogany frame with turned legs and levelling feet adjusters.
The slate bed table surround is old and shows signs of wear and tear commensurate with its age and use. No work has been has been undertaken to restore the slate bed wood surround other than the surface of the mahogany top cushion rails. The rest of the bed surround is untouched to preserve the original E.A. Clare & Son transfers at the head and the foot ends thus retaining the tables authenticity (See Photos) Similarly, the Riley support table is completely unrestored so this too shows its age with visible signs of wear and tear. Please dont expect showroom condition, both items are over 60 years old but generally good condition overall.
Transportation: The slate bed top separates easily from the Riley support table (it simply lifts off) Needless to say the slate bed is very heavy and will require two people to lift and carry it.Substantial steel bolts and captive nuts allow the E J Riley support frame to be completely dismantled, it breaks down to four legs and four stringers. I can assist with loading at this end if necessary.
