Vintage Handmade Maple One Piece Snooker/pool Cue 1920s?.
Condition is vintage/used. The cue has had a refurb when the new titanium ferrule was fitted (At a cost of 60 in total). It has had 4 coats of oil, the shaft has gone a lovely golden brown and it is silky smooth.
The hand splices look to have moved over the years and there is a tiny gap between 2 of them. I originally planned to get some lower splices put on because the cue feels superb in the hand. It has the perfect weight and balance for 8 ball pool. It also looks like a little nail has been put in some years ago, presumably to stop the weight inside moving (again it didnt bother me because the issue would have been rectified by the new lower splices I planned on putting on).
The lower hand splices look like Macassar ebony, not quite jet black and brown parts in there. The shaft is a nice clean maple. The ferrule is titanium and the tip is a CueSoul medium laminated. My cue maker gave this a thorough looking over and estimated that its an early hand made cue from around the 1920s possibly an Orme and Sons but there is no badge to back this up. There is a stamp on the shaft that says best hand made and 17oz underneath. It is truly a lovely cue and you can tell it has been made very well, especially for the age of it. The splicing has moved and is slightly off but the charm of this old cue overrides any negative aspect in my book.
