Sir William Bentley 9ft Convertible Mahogany slate-bed snooker/pool dining table.
A beautiful, bespoke hand made Sir William Bentley Empire height-adjustable Mahogany 9′ snooker table with beige 15631 H cloth playing surface. The table converts into a dining table by adding 5 leaves stored underneath the table and is complete with leaf retainers (an extra), hidden pockets and bespoke hand carved legs. The frame and solid tapered legs in dark sapele hardwood, the table leaves veneered in a rich mahogany.
Auction includes 2 Sir William Bentley 48″ cues, a set of pool balls, a set of snooker balls (unused), triangle, rest, brush and chalks.
A really good size table, little used, measuring 62″ wide x 116″ long (158 x 295cm approx.) when configured as a dining table with the five leaves fitted. The table can be adjusted for height for dining or playing using a brass hand crank to lower the table. Max height 34″ (86cm), lowest for dining 30.5″ (77cm). The leaves for the dining table are stored in two fold-down felt-lined leaf retainers (some scuffing and minor tears to the felt) that can be latched up out of the way when it is being used as a dining table. Seldom used nowadays, overall in nice, clean condition, no tears to playing surface, minor scuffs and patina to the table surround commensurate with gentle play. Inlaid Sir William Bentley logos both ends.
A rare and extremely versatile table that would cost well over 10,000- to order new today. Perfect for entertaining at Christmas and New Year.
