Langs Supreme Scottish Masters Snooker Trophy first won by Jimmy White in 1981 which was his first professional tournament win. Mentioned fondly in his autobiography at the age of 20 winning this tournament and the 8000.00 winners check.
This is the original Langs supreme Scottish masters trophy which is also a Tantalus and was used from 1981 until 1987. As mentioned above this was won by Jimmy White in 1981. Legendary Steve Davis then won the tournament for the next three years. It was then won twice by the Canadian Cliff Thorburn before finally being won by Joe Johnson in 1987. The tournament continued but a different trophy was used thereafter. This trophy has been in storage for over twenty years and is in superb condition with no cracks to the decanters or damage to the wood and Silver casing.The makers marks are PB as can be seen from the pictures. This is a stunning piece of serious Snooker memorabilia which also contains the winners of the tournament on the plaques as can be seen from the pictures.
This item is only going to increase in value and also has a use being a workable Tantalus also. I am prepared to answer any sensible questions in relation to this fantastic item.
