Description
Astrology has survived ridicule, misunderstanding and trivialisation, but is poised to be taken seriously again. Its popular image conceals the fact that is it the repository of ground-breaking and indeed dangerous knowledge, because it has the power to take us into the hidden engine room of life and show us where the levers are. This is a reprint of the second edition of Cosmic Loom, Dennis Elwell's first book, much enlarged to include astonishing conclusions on the meaning of events like the Dunblane Massacre and the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. It shows that it is now possible to grasp how and why astrology works, thanks to recent advances in psychology, parapsychology, and above all, theoretical physics. The subject has aroused scientific, moral and religious objections - here they are squarely faced and answered. Packed with concrete examples of astrology in action, the book spells out its far-reaching implications. It serves as a meaty introduction for those looking beyond the froth of the populist 'star columns', and at the same time provides experienced astrologers with a new perspective on chart interpretation. black & white illustrations
About the Author
Teaching himself the astrological basics as a teenager, over 50 years ago - when few good books were available - at 23 Dennis Elwell began contributing regularly to American Astrology. This magazine did much to popularise the subject in the United States, and was a platform for the leading astrologers of the day. The association continued for twenty years. He began lecturing to astrologers worldwide in 1963, gaining a reputation as an original thinker and stimulating speaker. For most of his life he worked as a newspaperman in his home town of Stourbridge, England but his guiding passion throughout has been the rehabilitation of astrology, and he followed up any clue that might lead to insights into its baffling subject matter. The trail led to an interest in science on the one hand, and on the other to occultists like Gurdjieff and Rudolf Steiner. In recent years, realising its awesome potential he has been saying to those who imagine that astrology is for amusement only, 'Think again. All genuine knowledge confers and advantage, and this stuff is positively dangerous'. The author enjoys teaching and has tutored his own correspondence course in advanced concepts and techniques.
