Hi. This is a very unusual item. It is a shop display for Burroughs & Watts patented ball adjuster. The adjuster was listed in their 1889 catalogue as a must have for balls to run true. Due to the materials snooker balls were made of at that time they would loose their shape and need to be sent back to be made spherical again. Burroughs and Watts made the adjuster so people could make the adjustments at home. Anyone who went to their shop in Soho Square would have seen one of these displays on the wall. Whether these were distributed to other retail outlets I don’t know. Whether they were displayed in Sydney Australia and Wellington New Zealand I can only guess at but I would like to think so. This is a piece of snooker memorabilia which won’t come up for sale very often. Grab a fantastic Christmas present for the man who has everything. It measures 2ft by 2ft by 3inches. It is a fascinating object and would hang beautifully on the wall behind a snooker table or even in a snooker fans study. Thanks for looking and happy bidding,.
