I believe this model is called the Challenge, and was made by W Jelks & Sons of Holloway Road London around the 192030s.
An Oak frame and top with solid single piece slate bed. The overall size of the table, set up for dining is 42″x78″x32″h (107cm x 198cm x 80cm h). The table raises up to get the ideal height for playing snooker or billiards.
It was valued in 2014 around 1500, a dealer would ask a little more for it of course.
A period oak dining table and six chairs. The chairs were recovered and are as new. There is one leaf on the top that requires a little attention due to water damage you can see this clearly in the picture. I have been told some minor polishing will restore this easily. The green cloth is lovely and has always been brushed (included) and looked after.Dining convertible snooker / billiard tables are much more sought after than a full size table and would normally start at around 500 in shabby state to 2000 for immaculate condition.Genuine reason for sale, house move.
