Here is a rare ex-pub superleague good quality Riley Imperial slate bed table. External 7ftx4ft its got the Mr Qs emblem on each side which lights up when plugged in, looks great when having an evening session. The Hen & Chicken near me in Bristol used to be a Mr Qs pub in the good old days. I bought it refurbished byTim Franklin pool&snooker specialists and its had about 12 years of home use. Family and parties, all head straight for the table, and as for kids, its the best way to drag them from the screens. Although its bad news when your teenage daughters can beat you! Its on free play with no coin mechanism so at least youre not paying to get beaten.
If like me youre fed up with the pubs being shut and the politicians and experts enjoyment at stopping you having fun (yes I know..covid) heres the way round it. You make your own pub at home. So Ive gathered a bundle of stuff as Im having clear out so you can create your own pub in one go. Theres the Pub Dartboard, genuine bristle Nodor brand with the long gone Whitbread advertising (remember Tusker, that was good ale), and a set of arrows. A couple of genuine pub glass optics with the seals in place so no one gives you a short measure. A good quality hardwood full-size shove hapenny board with a genuine halfpenny, and penny, real old money. A peanut/gum vending machine, probably toy but good quality glass with money box mechanism. Some other nice little wooden games, miniature backgammon set, solitaire board that needs marbles, and nice little wooden bagatelle. And a pub beer top remover. Not forgetting the cues, pool and snooker balls, boxes of chalk, Ds, and cue holding rack. And theres a Rules of the Inn poster to remind youngsters of what a pub used to be.
So there it is, a job lot, make your own pub, clear out the conservatory, garage, man/woman cave, build a man cave, do what it takes. Invite your social distanced space bubble family or whatever around, order some ale from your local artisan brewer, get back to what were missing, a night in your own pub that no one calls last orders on! Guaranteed years of fun, and no shortage of friends when normal life resumes.
